What we do
Helirig provides helicopter lifting services to a wide range of clients with varied requirements. The things our clients have in common are the need to lift, transport and construct with loads as heavy as 10 tonnes and the desire to do it:
with precision
with speed
with reduced disruption (to other activities, traffic, public)
at a competitive price
Helirig has built its reputation by satisfying all these requirements, whilst also providing an all encompassing service which reduces complexity, management time and risk.
A lifting operation that might take 2 to 3 days or more by normal means and require extensive road closures, can be completed in a matter of minutes by helicopter.
Long-line flying technique - Helirig only provides helicopters that are appropriately equipped, and pilots that are appropriately skilled in the long-line vertical reference flying method. This involves using a fixed line beneath the helicopter of up to 100 metres length and sometimes longer. Such line lengths allow the lifting of equipment in congested locations such as narrow streets without compromising the safety of the adjacent buildings or equipment.
Typical applications:
M&E plant
Install, remove and refurbish AC plant, chillers, fans, generators etc on high rooftops or other locations with challenging access
Railways
To avoid the hazards and access difficulties of positioning cranes adjacent to railway tracks, helicopters are often used for installation of GSM-R equipment, bridges, electrification and other equipment.
Power lines
Complete construction of power lines by helicopter including the flying in of plant and equipment for excavation. Concrete and steel materials, erection of towers and the stringing of pilot lines can all be undertaken by helicopter.
Telecoms
Installation of towers, antennas, microwave dishes, radar equipment at remote or hilltop locations
Industrial
Helicopters can be the ideal solution for the placement of heavy plant, tanks, generators, chimneys etc in congested production facilities, particularly where minimising periods of shutdown is a priority
Flare tips
Helicopters are generally the preferred solution for the changing of flare tips at oil and gas installations both offshore and onshore.
Other diverse applications:
- Materials and small bridges for countryside paths
- Erection of tower cranes
- Installation of cable cars
- Movement of trees, statues and other works of art
- Movement of cabins, caravans and boats
Whatever your requirement might be, Helirig would be delighted to hear from you to discuss the use of helicopters
